COMPANY HISTORY
Confect Schockaert, established in Belgium in 1947, focussed mainly on the
manufacture of ready-made soldiers' uniforms, a process referred to as 'confection'
in
French. This gave birth to the 'Confect' in our name.
Adding items, such as heavy textile soldier equipment in the 1960s and bulletproof
vests in the 1970s, to the product range, the company grew larger over the following
decades. By diversifying into injection moulding and perfecting the process
of moulding
plastic parts directly onto webbing and narrow fabrics in the 1980s, we were
able to
supply the demand for high quality, heavy textile, military buckles and belts.
Expanding to South Africa
in 1996, we continue to specialise in the manufacture
of heavy-duty belts for the military, police, emergency services and any service
or
organisation that requires its personnel to wear a uniform. The products are
tough,
durable and exceptionally hardwearing. Our constant, high standards are maintained
through the close and continued cooperation with the South African Bureau of
Standards (SABS).
